The highly anticipated Mobil Travel Guide awards for Hong Kong and Macau were officially announced at a champagne reception held at Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong last night.
The event was well attended by hospitality industry professionals and VIPs. Hong Kong’s Financial Secretary, John Tsang and James Tien, Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board both welcomed the prestigious guidebook to the region, stating it would provide an excellent boost to the tourism industry. Shane O'Flaherty, President and CEO of Mobil Travel Guide informed guests that, “Hong Kong and Macau lead the pack with more Mobil Five-Star rated hotels and spas than any other destination in the world.” He went on to cite the “meticulous attention to service that makes this region the ultimate Five-Star destination.”
The Mobil Four-and Five-Star ratings reflect the gold standard in hospitality excellence in the US, and have long been considered one of the peak achievements in the hospitality and travel industry. Three of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s luxury hotels received high ratings in the first edition of the Hong Kong and Macau Mobil Travel Guide.
Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong and The Landmark Mandarin Oriental were both awarded the coveted Mobil Five-Star status, while Mandarin Oriental, Macau received a Mobil Four Star rating.
