New York’s Michelangelo Hotel is among the finest luxury hotels in the world. Times Square, Broadway, Central Park and the best fashion shopping anywhere, are all mere seconds away. The Michelangelo is a haven of Italian sophistication in the brash excitement of Manhattan – with the Michelin recommendation to prove it.

As well as inclusion in the prestigious 2009 NYC Michelin Guide, the Michelangelo Hotel was also named one of the top 500 ’Greatest Hotels of the World’ by Travel & Leisure Magazine and has been placed on the ’Gold List’ for the ‘Best Places to Stay in the Whole World’ by Condé Nast Traveller.

Styled on the great palaces of Florence and Venice, the Michelangelo offers some of the largest and grandest hotel rooms in New York, where guests are surrounded by crystal chandeliers, oil paintings and elegant antique furnishings.

Averaging 45 square metres, most rooms have a marble foyer, king size bed, two televisions, mini-bar, sitting area and grand-scale bathtub, all adding to the ambience of a sumptuous Italian villa. The guest rooms combine elegant furnishings and modern day conveniences with generous living space.

The 2009 NYC Michelin Guide describes the hotel as: “Convenient to Times Square, the Theatre District, Rockefeller Centre and Midtown offices, the Michelangelo caters to both leisure and business travellers. A recent renovation has polished the two-story lobby, regal in its liberal use of marble, rich fabric panels and crystal chandeliers.”

“Part of an Italian hotel chain, the Michelangelo interprets hospitality with gusto di vivere italiano. Turndown service, a complimentary continental breakfast, a small fitness centre, and limo service to Wall Street on weekday mornings number among the amenities,” the Guide continues.

Scandinavians in New York often favour the Michelangelo for its European atmosphere, its multilingual service and the fact that its luxury is refreshingly unpretentious.
