Prestigious dining and entertaining is both literally and gastronomically taken to new heights at new luxury ‘penthouse hotel’ Raffles Tianjin.

Five unique and exciting venues include the highest stylish restaurant and most fashionable bar in the city opening 24 June 2010 – soaring 50-storeys high above the city atop the Tianjin Centre.

The spectacular international signature restaurant SoU has stunning panoramic views with high ceilings enhancing the atmosphere of altitude, complemented by stylish Japanese and European cuisine, with emphasis on seasonality.

Overlooked by the bar, it features warm colours with the large boulder style marble counters, giving the restaurant a strong uncompromising natural grace.

With award-winning Singaporean Executive Chef Leong Pei Pei Kidd and Tokyo-born master chef Masayasu Haruyama at the helm, the innovative menu is “second to none” in the city – featuring finest ingredients, freshest seafood and stunning presentation. Cooking ‘islands’ encourage guests to walk around to select sushi and sashimi, salads, noodles, tempura and grilled dishes.

Stylish rooftop lounge bar CitySpace is a trendy haven, open from 7pm-late, with live DJs nightly. Cool colours, big picture windows, great lighting and a ‘floating’ island bar create this fashionable venue in the middle of the city.

Funky cocktails, modern, trendy snacks and international tapas are on the menu, with hip live music pumping up in beat during the course of the evening. Also showcased is a cigar room, where a cigar roller from the Caribbean will occasionally roll cigars for guests.

The signature Imperial Chinese restaurant Qing Palace serves prized cuisine dating back to the Royal Court of the Qing Dynasty. Juxtaposition between modern finishes and rough hewn slate tiles contrast to beautifully designed, wood lattice work in the centre of the restaurant, creating a ‘textured warmth’.

Live seafood is another specialty, plus the very best of Cantonese and Sichuan style cuisine. Home-made specialties complete the menu at one of Tianjin’s premier Chinese dining venues, which includes beautifully furnished private rooms with individual washrooms, bringing a sense of privacy and richness not normally found in private restaurant rooms.

International all-day dining restaurant Opera Café pays tribute to Tianjin’s history as the birthplace of Chinese opera, serving international and local specialties in a modern, elegant, vibrant venue, complete with open kitchens for diners to admire the chefs in action as they make the ordinary extra-ordinary.

With a contemporary design, Lobby Lounge presents a menu of salads, sandwiches and desserts, served with tea and coffee specialties from 7.30am-10.30pm. Afternoon tea is the envy of the city and an evening cocktail menu includes traditional and fruit Martinis, champagnes and selected wines.

A classical pianist brings elegance to the extravagant venue styled as a place for guests and visitors to relax, meet, see and be seen.
