Double Awards, Double Happiness!

Masterchef Chan Kwok was in the midst of doing what he loved – preparing Cantonese dishes to perfection when his name was announced at the recent Asian Gastronomic Awards Ceremony! He was honoured with two prestigious awards - Chef of the Year and Asian Cuisine Chef of the Year at the Asian Gastronomic Awards of Excellence 2011.

Organised by Peter Knipps Holdings and supported by Singapore Tourism Board and Workforce Development Agency, the annual awards are the culinary equivalent of the Oscars and seek to recognise the finest talents in the F&B industry from Singapore and the region. To be crowned Asian Cuisine Chef of the Year and Chef of the Year, nominees had to go through three rigorous rounds of selection by the public, F&B professionals and jury members.

“These two culinary top awards would not have been possible without the continuous support of our loyal customers and the dedication of our team members. It is a testament to the exceptional culinary talents of Chef Chan Kwok and his team to present one of the top Chinese Restaurants in Singapore,” said Mr Ruprecht Schmitz, General Manager of Orchard Hotel.

“I feel fortunate to be able to turn my love for cooking into a career. Winning an award is definitely a bonus! These trophies are a form of recognition for the team’s hardwork to produce the best of Cantonese culinary experience. And together with Masterchef Chung Lap Fai, I look forward to bring Hua Ting to greater heights,” said a humble Chef Chan Kwok.

To celebrate this double win, Hua Ting Restaurant is rolling out a Double Celebration menu for your indulgence. Featuring top notch Cantonese fare exquisitely created by Masterchef Chan Kwok using premium ingredients, these specialities will satisfy even the most discerning palates! Chilled marinated black fungus with fresh Norwegian salmon accompanied with deep fried beancurd stuffed with minced prawn roll, Crispy suckling pig stuffed with prawn paste accompanied with pan fried Norwegian salmon, Baked fillet of sea perch with honey sauce, Sautéed Chilean sea whelk with fresh lily buds, Braised Mexican sea cucumber stuffed with minced pork and goose web & seasonal greens in superior oyster sauce and and celery, homemade silky “tou fu hua” are some of the dishes which can be savoured. The two celebration set menus are attached.
