Dean Nakasone, general manager of the Holiday Inn Waikiki Beachcomber Resort, is proud to announce that the properties website, www.waikikibeachcomberresort.com, developed by Milestone Internet Marketing, Inc., has been recognized with two awards this year – the first from the Web Marketing Association and the second from the International Academy of the Visual Arts.
Holiday Inn Waikiki Beachcomber Resort captured the Web Marketing Association’s “Standard of Excellence” WebAward in the Hotel and Lodging category. Entries were judged on seven criteria including design, content, innovation, technology, interactivity, copywriting and ease of use. The Holiday Inn Waikiki Beachcomber Resort exceeded the category average rating in six of the seven criteria and was awarded an impressive total score of 59 points compared to the WebAward average score of 53.4
Since 1997, the Web Marketing Association’s annual WebAward Competition has been setting the standard of excellence for Website development. Independent expert judges from around the world review sites in 96 industries. The best are recognized with a WebAward which helps interactive professionals promote
themselves, their companies, and their best work to the outside world. The WebAward Competition is the premier award recognition program for Web developers and marketers worldwide.
The Holiday Inn Waikiki Beachcomber Resort website was also recognized by the International Academy of the Visual Arts with a “Gold” Davey Award, the highest distinction in the annual awards program. “Gold” winners generally receive a score of 9.0 points or above, based on a scale of 1-10.
The Davey Award is the largest and most prestigious awards competition exclusively for the "Davids" of creativity. David defeated the giant Goliath with a big idea and a little rock - the sort of thing small firms do each year. The annual International Davey Awards honors the achievements of the "Creative Davids" who derive their strength from big ideas, rather than stratospheric budgets. The Davey is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a "Who's Who" of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms. IAVA members include executives from organizations such as Condè Nast, Michael Kors Inc., Disney, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Microsoft, HBO, Monster.com, MTV, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sotheby's Institute of Art, Victoria's Secret, Howcast and many more.
