This September, Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta has lined up a series of extravagant event that pays homage to the Prohibition Era of the 1920s. The highlight starts from the hotel’s lobby area where it showcases numerous classic cars to welcome guests, and which culminates in the inaugural Concours d’Elegance.
“It is exciting to work for such an amazing project,” said Yonatan Kachko, General Manager. “I am very excited to see how the team blends these classic influences with our style of Four Seasons Hospitality and Dining”
Among the classic car lovers, Concours D'elegance is not a foreign name. This event has an international reputation as the most prestigious event in its class, to present the rare and exotic classic cars ever made in the world, and also as a favorite event for world collectors to gather. On September 21, Concours d ' Elegance was held for the first time in Indonesia, featuring over 30 classic car collections and motorcycles from 1950 to 1980.
Stanley Atmadja, the founder of Concours D'elegance in Indonesia and the president of Indonesia Classic Cars Owners Club (ICCOC) said, "This Concours D'elegance is a history for the automotive world in Indonesia reflecting that Indonesia has become a part of the world's automotive market. Through this prestigious classic car festival, we hope that across generations can appreciate the historical value of cars while helping preserve these classic cars."
Stanley Atmadja added that the title of Concours D'elegance could be an activity to share the passion and pride of the owners of classic cars to the car enthusiast and also preserve the heritage of Indonesian automotive history. "This event also aims to support the world of Indonesian tourism and show the world that Indonesia is one of the interesting tourist destinations," add Stanley.
The classic cars on display will also get judged from the judges where the criteria of assessment based on conditions, history, originality and accuracy of the restoration of the car. ICCOC invites one of the judges of the famous Concours D'elegance Valentino Balboni which is also the former Chief Test Driver of Lamborghini. The name Balboni was even enshrined on the Lamborghini Gallardo line-up edition 2009 under the name LP550-2 Valentino Balboni.
