Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IHCL said, “Founded by Jamsetji Tata in 1903 and nurtured by the visionary leaders of the Tata Group, Taj, continues to be a legendary symbol of timeless hospitality. From pioneering landmark tourism destinations of Rajasthan, Goa, Kerala, Andamans and North-East to opening doors to India’s living grand Palaces, Taj rated as India’s Strongest Brand 2023 by Brand Finance is an icon that is both loved and sought after.”

He added, “On this momentous occasion, I would like to thank the many people who have been integral to its success, having made it an institution and a benchmark.”

The Taj Mahal Palace opened in Mumbai, then Bombay, in 1903, country’s first harbour landmark was a pioneer of fine living and luxury.

The recently trademarked hotel overlooks the majestic Gateway of India having preceded it by 20 years. Standing witness to the changing tides of time, it has played host to kings, dignitaries and eminent personalities from across the globe.

Its Indo-Saracenic architecture has become synonymous with city’s skyline, reflecting an amalgamation of traditions and modernity. Each of the rooms and suites are a striking blend of nostalgic elegance, rich history and contemporary conveniences.

In a series of commemorative events, hotel will display the tales of the bygone era with a Light & Sound Show on December 16th followed by Black-Tie Charity Ball on December 17th. In line with the founding principles of the TATA legacy, the event will raise funds to support IHCL’s CSR initiatives and Taj Public Service Welfare Trust.
