Le Fitz Roy, Val Thorens, FranceLe Fitz Roy is one of the most legendary chalets in the Savoyard region of the French Alps. The 58 spacious rooms and suites were redesigned by French architect Gilles Leborgne who retained the charming elements of the original interiors, including incorporating polished wood and natural stone, while merging them with contemporary classic furniture from the likes of Antonio Citterio and Paola Navone. With a sun terrace, in-house ski shop, and a location just a stone’s throw from the best ski lifts Val Thorens has to offer, this five-star resort has everyone covered, from green circles to double black diamonds.
Hôtel des Trois Vallées, Courchevel, FranceHôtel des Trois Vallées is the oldest chalet in Courchevel, and as such, it is also one of the most charming. The refurbishment completed in November 2013 has modernized the hotel’s interiors, with the aim to preserve the spirit of its original 1950’s design aesthetic. Particular attention has been paid to utilizing light and space in each of the 31 rooms, resulting in soaring and sun-filled guest chambers. Many of the original pieces of furniture remain, adding to the old-school charm abundant throughout the property.
