It is with great sadness that we inform industry colleagues and friends that our CEO John Cameron has passed away after a short and sudden illness.

John has been an incredible asset to the Association and he will be dearly missed as a leader and as a friend.

We are immensely grateful for his work in shaping the International Association of Hotel General Managers and the International Association of Hotel Executives, which he joined after a long and successful global career with companies such as ITT Sheraton and InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).

John was personally responsible for creating the Associations’ Career Management Centre and worked tirelessly to develop a portfolio of benefit plans for members that are truly best-in-class. We continue with absolute dedication to supporting GMs throughout their careers and beyond, and we thank John from the bottom of our hearts for his commitment, kindness, and expertise.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
