Effective from 1st May 2023, Jose Luis Duran Sanles is the new general manager at Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel, and Frederic Kolde assumes the role of hotel manager at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel.

Jose Sanles takes up his first general manager posting after serving over a year as hotel manager at Anantara Siam where he oversaw operations of the iconic 354-key grand dame with its eight restaurants, two bars, and numerous event venues.

Jose has called Bangkok home since 2016, the year he started as Director of Food & Beverage at Shangri-La Bangkok, where he was eventually promoted to the role of EAM in charge of Food & Beverage.

Apart from a short stint in Korea in 2014-2016 as the Food & Beverage Manager at Conrad Seoul, Jose has been based in Thailand for over a decade, holding management roles at luxury resorts in Khon Kaen, Koh Lanta and Phuket over the years.

The Spanish national holds a diploma in Hotel Management from Les Roches Marbella International School.

Taking over from Jose as hotel manager at Anantara Siam Bangkok is luxury expert Frederic Kolde who joins the property from Anantara Riverside where he held the position of hotel manager since September 2022.

In his new role Frederic can fully play on his strengths to make personalisation and customisation central to the guest experience.

Frederic stepped into his first leadership role shortly after graduating from Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS) as pre-opening Assistant Manager at the signature steakhouse at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.

He would remain on the Hyatt Hotels’ leadership roster until 2016, relocating to Japan in 2012 to manage The Oak Door steakhouse at Grand Hyatt Tokyo, then returning to Grand Hyatt Hong Kong in 2014 as Assistant Director of Food & Beverage.

The next chapter brought Frederic first to Thailand, where he worked as Director of Food & Beverage at Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, and later on to China.

In his role as EAM in charge of Food & Beverage at Hyatt Regency Beijing Wangjing, he honed his leadership skills during the challenging pandemic years.

“It gives me great pleasure to announce these key promotions within our Bangkok leadership team,” said Mark O Sullivan.

“Making sure that our leaders get a fast-track to advancement within the organisation is one of Minor’s promises to the team, and I am confident that Jose and Frederic will continue to thrive and hope that they find their new roles fulfilling and rewarding”.
